Friday

We had a great tour through the Louvre, then went on to les Invalides to see Napoleon's tomb (small man, BIG tomb). After walking through the Tuileries gardens, we saw the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysees. For our evening meal, we had boeuf bourguignon--delicious! We had an open evening, so found a concert advertised in the Pariscope guide. It turned out to be an Ivoirian group that played reggae. Very cool, and not your average French tour experience.

Blois!

We ate lunch here and then walked the town. Lovely warm weather, sun shining. We walked by the Loire River, saw the beautiful old St. Nicolas Church, and ended with the chateau! This was where I lived when I taught English in France. We met up with one of my colleagues, Francoise. So nice to meet and talk to French people (beyond "Bonjour" to your waiter).
